Tour Itinerary

Meet Your Guide at Miyazaki Port

Start your journey with a warm welcome from your guide just outside the terminal. From here, you’ll set off to explore some of the region’s most sacred and scenic treasures.

Udo Shrine (25-Minute Drive)

Nestled inside a seaside cliff, Udo Shrine is one of Kyushu’s most picturesque and spiritually significant spots. Overlooking the ocean, the shrine is associated with Japanese mythology and fertility blessings. Don't miss the chance to toss clay balls (undama) toward a sacred target on the rocks below for good luck!

Horikiri Pass – Scenic Viewpoint

Stop at Horikiri Pass for a panoramic view of the Devil’s Washboards, a natural rock formation that looks like giant washboards stretching into the sea — a stunning photo opportunity.

Aoshima Town (Short Drive)

Arrive at the beachside Aoshima area, where you’ll have time to:

  • Stroll through the Aoshima Shrine, located on a small island
  • Walk along the Devil’s Washboards up close
  • Wander the Botanical Gardens and subtropical forests
  • Enjoy a local lunch at one of the seaside restaurants

🌿 This stop offers a perfect balance of nature, spiritual sites, and free time to relax or explore.

Obi Town (45-Minute Drive)

Head inland to Obi, often called the "Little Kyoto of Kyushu." This former samurai town features:

  • Obi Castle Ruins & Museum
  • Historic Samurai Residences
  • A walk through well-preserved streets filled with artisan shops
  • A visit to the Ito Samurai House, now a traditional café offering green tea or coffee in a peaceful, historical setting

Nichinan Sake Brewery Hall

End the day with a quick stop at the Nichinan Sake Brewery Hall, where you can sample locally brewed Japanese sake and learn about the traditional process. Purchase a bottle to take home or as a unique gift.

Return to Port (No Later than 5:00 PM)

Conclude the day with a smooth drive back to Miyazaki Port, arriving in time for your ship’s departure.
