Meet your guide at the Niida terminal and begin your full-day journey through Kochi’s top sights.

Ryugado Caves Adventure

Start your morning with a 30-minute drive to the Ryugado Caves, one of Japan’s three major limestone cave systems. Walk the ‘sightseeing course’ through stunning underground chambers shaped over millions of years — a mystical and adventurous experience.

Makino Botanical Garden

Next, head to the peaceful Makino Botanical Garden, dedicated to Japan’s father of botany, Tomitaro Makino. Enjoy a scenic stroll among rare plants, seasonal blooms, and beautifully landscaped grounds.

Optional Stop – Chikurin-ji Temple

If time and interest allow, walk from the garden to Chikurin-ji Temple, one of the 88 stops on the Shikoku Pilgrimage. This quiet temple, surrounded by forest, is known for its spiritual atmosphere and classic Buddhist architecture.

Lunch at Hirome Ichiba Market

Enjoy a lunch break at Hirome Ichiba, Kochi’s famous food market. With over 40 stalls, you can sample local favorites like katsuo no tataki (seared bonito), ramen, yakitori, sushi, and more. A fun and flexible way to experience Kochi’s foodie culture.

Kochi Castle Visit

Step back into history at Kochi Castle, one of only a handful of original wooden castles left in Japan. Climb to the top for great views and explore its samurai-era architecture and exhibits.

Kochi City Walking District

Stroll through Kochi’s lively shopping and walking district, where you’ll find unique local shops, crafts, snacks, and souvenirs. A perfect way to experience the laid-back charm of the city.

Optional Coffee/Tea Break

Time permitting, stop for a warm drink or sweet treat at a local café before the return ride to the port.
