Scenic Drive East
- Begin with a drive east for nearly 2 hours to one of Kyushu’s most spiritually significant and scenically stunning locations. The journey offers breathtaking landscapes that set the tone for a day of exploration and reflection.
Takachiho Shrine
- Continue to Takachiho Shrine, a renowned power spot known for its spiritual energy and cultural significance. The shrine offers a deep connection to Japanese mythology and provides a tranquil setting for contemplation.
Takachiho Gorge
- A short hop from the shrine brings us to Takachiho Gorge. Spend about 2 hours exploring this natural wonder, including a sit-down lunch amidst the gorge’s striking colors and serene environment. This location promises a memorable experience, especially for nature enthusiasts.
Amano Iwato Shrine
- Drive approximately 15 minutes to the Amano Iwato Shrine, famed for its historical and mythological importance as the site where, according to legend, the gods gathered to create Japan. The walk from the shrine to the cave offers spectacular scenic views, enhancing the spiritual journey.
Takachiho Shochu Brewery
- Conclude the day with a visit to the Takachiho Shochu Brewery, where you can sample and purchase traditional Japanese spirits. This is a perfect way to experience local flavors and traditions before heading back.
Return to Port
- Ensure a timely return to the port no later than 5:00 PM, or at least 1 hour before our scheduled departure, wrapping up a day filled with cultural insights and natural beauty.
